Converter & Inverter

by RV Mentor - Joe / RVing For Newbies Book Author | Nov 24, 2019 | AC, DC, Electricity | 0 comments

Q: What is the difference between a converter and an inverter?

A: Inverter: takes DC(battery power) and converts it to 120V AC, there are two types, modified sine wave and pure sine wave.

Converter: takes 120VAC(shore power or generator) power and it converts it to DC(battery power), so it will charge the battery(ies) but it also has the breakers for distribution of your 120VAC for your RV.
