Propane Furnace 101 – Debugging, not working tips
There are the steps a furnace takes to work, which of these are failing(in chronological order):
Steps of what happens for propane furnace to ignite, there are steps to be taken for each of these, if a step fails, some are easy others are a bit more complicated.
1. Set thermostat temp to higher than current temp in the RV
2. Approximately 10-20 seconds blower turns on and you should hear it.
3. After 10-20 seconds, you should hear clicking, meaning the propane should begin flowing and it should ignite.
4. Sparking goes on for about 5-7 seconds, then the main burner flame for the furnace ignites.
5. You should feel warm air both inside and on exhaust port outside the RV.
Next time, will elaborate on each of these steps and how to debug each one.
